and then

so, thirteen days and I could once again see.

I removed the coverings with little shock. The movement of my head (and resulting change of the image I saw) was odd for some moments, but other than that the same night proved to be quite productive; my restored vision allowing Me to easily detail my teeth, properly groom my hair, freshen my room, and begin shaping the materials for the exhibit.

There were some unfortunate incidents including some bumps and scrapes. The worst occurred basically the day before I removed the coverings. I fell and hit my nose on a window sill.

I'm including a photo of myself shortly after removing the covering.

note to the viewers

At this time I plan to only post materials from one more day.

I have been considering whether to post transcripts of the hand-written composition on this blog and edited versions of the computer entries. (I am creating edited transcripts for the exhibit materials.)

If anyone has suggestions for the materials posted on the blog please feel free to contact Me. My email is listed in the profile.

I hope You have a great day. (and I hope to have the next post done soon)

In the lower right corner of the wall mural is the sleeping form of a woman. It is a simple form like matisse or a number of the better known muralists of Mexico. She is r2eclined against a tree. Her hair is draped down her body covering the bare body; the vreasts and tracing the edges of her body. her arms are pulled together in front of her and the fingers are interlocked. Her head gently lulls to her right.

I sit here staring at a blackscape - and a vlinding light peaking under the bottom of the covering. There is an empty stilness to the house. It is an inaccurate exaggeration of realithy of being the only individual in the house.

So the plan being considered was to go outside across the lawn and feel for a car in an attempt to verify if aparticular person was still here inside the house with Me. The plan never sounded that effective or appealing. So, instead I walked out into the hall and listened; becoming very

These are a composition entry and a sketch book entry from the 13th of October :

Below is a post of an audio entry; the screen should appear mostly white/blank.

Note: I am not posting from each day nor each posting from the selected days. I am preparing materials from the Study in an exhibit form at this time. Complete materials will be viewable at each installation of the exhibit. If You are interested in viewing more complete materials or possibly hosting the exhibit feel free to contact Me at ecw-the-2nd@emailaccount.com and reference the study and/or exhibit in the subject line. Thank You.

I hope You have a great day.

a schedule as a beginning of structure

In general the schedule that I followed was:

midnight : write (hand-written) │ sketch
eight AM : write (voice recording)
noon : write (computer entry) │ sketch
eight PM : write (hand-written) │ sketch

There was some variation and the timing was flexible; there were a number of instances when I was at readings, etc. and did not stop to sketch or write. Also, there were some days that I chose not to adhere to the rotation schedule and opted instead for a focused day (example: an entire day of voice recording, hand-writing, etc.).

I hope that You enjoy the materials that were created during this study and I hope that You can appreciate the concept of the study, whether it be a challenge or source of joy for You.

the variation of consistency

I employed various eye-coverings during the time. They were chosen based on a number of factors including comfort and practicality.

Here are some of the photos.

It's over

So, for two weeks in October of 2008 I covered my eyes.
